As a physician, I specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health and emotional problems. Through my extensive medical training, I help my clients understand the complex relationship between physical and emotional wellness or distress.
With expertise in evidence-based Western medicine and holistic, complementary perspectives, I am a seasoned clinician who designs personalized strategies to help patients make lasting changes to flourish mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Lasting changes do not arise from a single visit; they develop over time as understanding is increased, perspective is gained, and treatment progresses. To discover these lasting changes, we must first build a foundation of trust. I will dedicate each session to you. Taking notes and planning treatment strategies is never more important than you - your present circumstances, the history which has shaped you, and your wellness goals. It is with great humility that I engage with patients as their trusted partner in healing.
Part of developing trust is also utilizing every resource available to help my patients. Because I wanted to better understand the unique aspects of humanity and how illness affects individuals, I also pursued training in Ayurvedic medicine, and its allied disciplines of yoga, meditation, and pranayama, becoming also a student of Vedic wisdom. These additional skills enable a much broader perspective on human wellness and illness, on building appropriate therapeutic plans, and on understanding environmental impacts.
In conjunction with my success as a physician, I excelled as an engineer and entrepreneur. For the first half of my career I was in the trenches of system design, root cause analysis, and solution development and implementation. As I transitioned to my career as a physician, I used my skills in research and scientific methodology to identify opportunities to improve the delivery of patient-focused health care. My unique background, world-class training, and analytical abilities – paired with expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy – allow me to leverage a number of tools to formulate integrative and holistic treatment strategies for complex and difficult-to-characterize symptoms.
Your health is my passion and I have dedicated my career to finding and gaining the knowledge, resources, and experiences that will help on the journey to wellness.
